Phone recordings reveal fugitive developer offering $100,000 to aid Perrottet brother's preselection

A recorded conversation presented to the Independent Commission Against Corruption disclosed that fugitive property developer Jean Nassif suggested providing $100,000 to assist a brother of former NSW premier Dominic Perrottet in securing Liberal Party preselection. The call, made in June 2021, featured Reformers faction representative Jean-Claude Perrottet, who admitted Nassif had become his client at Medallion Finance and later shifted the discussion to politics.

Nassif’s offer could be routed through Liberal figures Jeremy Greenwood or Christian Ellis, though Perrottet expressed confusion about the intended recipient. ICAC is also probing whether donations tied to Nassif were exchanged for favors, including damaging former minister David Elliott’s career and ousting building commissioner David Chandler. Additional taps revealed Nassif accusing political opponents of targeting the Perrottet family and seeking assistance in key Liberal strongholds such as Castle Hill and Baulkham Hills.

Dominic Perrottet, who initially referred the allegations to the commission, faces no charges. The inquiry also noted Jean-Claude Perrottet’s 2023 trip to Fiji, allegedly funded by parties named in related donation scandals.
