Police issue emergency alert for armed suspect linked to Annapolis Royal shooting

An emergency alert has been activated in Bedford, Nova Scotia, after police identified a man they suspect was involved in a shooting that occurred in Annapolis Royal on Saturday. Halifax Regional Police describe the 31-year-old suspect as a white male, six feet three inches tall, with brown hair and brown facial hair. The RCMP issued the alert, noting the individual is armed and believed to be in the wooded area behind Sunnyside Mall, where his car was located in the adjacent parking lot.
Authorities have urged local residents to stay indoors, lock their doors, and avoid the area while the search proceeds. Police have asked anyone who sees the suspect to contact emergency services at 911 without delay. The alert remains active as officers work to locate and apprehend the individual.
