Poll Finds Strong Voter Support for SAVE America Act ID Requirements

An exclusive poll commissioned by Tea Party Patriots Action reveals that a large majority of general-election voters back the SAVE America Act, which mandates citizenship verification for voter registration and photo identification at the ballot box. Conducted by McLaughlin & Associates on July 22 with 1,000 respondents, the study found 82% agree that only citizens should vote in presidential and congressional races, and over 75% say proof of citizenship should be required to register.
Support spans the political spectrum: 94% of Republicans, 73% of independents and 68% of Democrats endorse the measure. Most respondents (66%) dismiss concerns that voter-ID rules would create barriers, and 55.5% want the Senate to continue advancing the bill before the upcoming midterms. The poll also notes that the legislation has already cleared the Senate and is being promoted by President Donald Trump and Tea Party leader Jenny Beth Martin.
