Poll Shows Majority of Americans Favor Crypto Bill, May Influence Voter Choices
A new Focaldata poll for Coinbase finds over half of U.S. adults would feel safer if Congress passes the crypto industry's top legislative priority, and a notable share say it could sway their vote.
Focaldata surveyed U.S. adults on behalf of Coinbase to gauge public reaction to the crypto sector's leading legislative goal. The results show that a slim majority, roughly 52%, believe the bill would increase their sense of protection. Voter sentiment appears split along partisan lines, with 38% of likely Democratic voters and 41% of likely Republican voters indicating they would be more likely to choose a candidate supporting the measure, while 14% would be less inclined.
About half of respondents expressed neutrality or uncertainty. Pollster John Anzalone, who has previously worked with Coinbase, explained that the issue is unlikely to dominate Democratic primaries but could influence outcomes in general elections. The findings arrive as Democratic lawmakers circulate additional polling that highlights negative views of crypto among primary voters. Eleanor Mueller reported the data, which was first shared with one outlet.
