Prime Minister Modi unveils nationwide drug-free youth campaign

In New Delhi, Prime Minister Narendra Modi officially rolled out the Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat Sankalp Abhiyan, a nationwide drive to keep young Indians physically and mentally healthy by staying away from drugs. The scheme, which started as a pilot in the sacred city of Kashi, now involves more than 125 spiritual organisations and a range of NGOs that have signed the Kashi Declaration. Modi highlighted that drug abuse undermines careers, families and the nation's progress toward a developed India.

He called on the youth to pledge abstinence, noting that lakhs of participants have already committed to a drug-free path for the next hundred weeks. The initiative is presented as a joint effort that serves the individual, the family, society and the country as a whole. Officials said the campaign will be promoted across the country, aiming to embed a culture of sobriety among India's future workforce.
