Prominent Trump Critics Form New Anti-Trump Movement Ahead of Midterms

A group of high-profile former Trump allies, including Marjorie Taylor Greene and Tucker Carlson, announced a new political movement to oppose Donald Trump and his supporters.

Former Trump loyalists gathered at Tucker Carlson’s hunting-lodge-style home in Maine to launch a new political movement aimed at challenging Donald Trump and his base. Marjorie Taylor Greene, who resigned from Congress earlier this year, posted a tweet accusing Trump of betraying the anti-war promises that initially attracted their support. Also present were Kentucky GOP representative Thomas Massie, former National Counterterrorism Center director Joe Kent, and Greene’s newly married husband Brian Glenn.

Carlson, who has hinted at forming a third party, expressed regret for his previous endorsement of Trump and criticized the president’s handling of the Iran conflict. Kent resigned in March, citing pressure from Israel and an American lobby to start a war he deemed unnecessary. The initiative seeks to unite right- and left-leaning activists under an "America First for all" banner and could affect Republican prospects in the looming midterm contests.
