Punjab Police dismantle two ISI-linked terror cells, seize weapons and arrest nine
Punjab police announced the capture of nine suspects, including four juveniles, after breaking up two cross-border terror cells allegedly backed by the ISI.
Police commissioner Gurpreet Singh Bhullar said the operation uncovered two ISI-supported modules operating in Amritsar and Patti. Authorities recovered three pistols, live ammunition, petrol bombs, a stolen motorcycle and a country-made.32-bore pistol. The nine arrested individuals, among them four minors, were accused of recruiting local youth and scouting security sites for foreign handlers. A separate raid netted two additional juveniles with further explosives.
Why it matters
The bust thwarts a foreign-backed terror network and removes weapons that could threaten public safety.
