PwC scraps its traditional Disney World celebration for 2026 summer interns
PwC announced that the customary multi-day Disney World trip for its 2026 summer interns has been cancelled.
PwC confirmed the termination of Impact, the long-standing Disney World trip that has capped its summer internship program for nearly two decades. Interns learned that instead of the usual mid-August multi-day celebration, they will conclude their stint with a team dinner at an Italian restaurant. A company spokesperson emphasized a strategic shift toward experiences that provide more direct interaction with colleagues, greater client exposure, and stronger relationships within the offices where interns begin their careers.
While the flagship Disney trip is gone, PwC continues to host other events, including Destination CPA, a three-day networking program in Orlando that still offers Disney World access. Intern reactions were mixed, with some expressing disappointment and others noting that alternative events still provide valuable networking opportunities. The change aligns with broader talent-strategy adjustments, such as the Learning Collective initiative and a reduction in entry-level hiring across regions.
Why it matters
The cancellation signals PwC's shift in how it engages and retains early-career talent.
