Question paper images allegedly shared on WhatsApp during Odisha PG medical exam

During the All Odisha Medical PG Examination, images of the General Surgery paper were reportedly posted in WhatsApp groups, prompting an internal probe.

Images of the General Surgery section of the All Odisha Medical PG Examination were allegedly shared on WhatsApp while the test was in progress on July 27. The leak was reported after a private medical college student in Bhubaneswar claimed to have received the photos from a group created by a student at MKCG Medical College and Hospital in Berhampur. Odisha University of Health Sciences vice-chancellor Manas Ranjan Sahoo called a virtual meeting with the principals of the participating colleges and instructed them to reinforce security for the remaining examinations.

MKCG College dean-cum-principal Harekrushna Dalai noted that the paper seemed to have been photographed inside the exam hall, despite standard bans on mobile devices. He expressed surprise at the method used and said an internal probe is underway to identify the technology employed. The theory exams for the 2023-26 batch began on July 21, with two more scheduled for early August, involving 154 candidates at MKCG College.
