In a live Instagram session, Rahul Gandhi broke his silence on the Jharkhand student demonstrations, insisting that every government - central, state or future Congress - must address student grievances and reform the education sector. He reiterated his view that the system is collapsed, costly and repressive, echoing statements he made previously in Kota, Dehradun and Allahabad. The protests, now in their 13th day, involve a hunger strike by six demonstrators and a delegation seeking talks with authorities.
Participants, organized under the JPSC-JSSC Reforms Manch, demand the annulment of the 14th Jharkhand PSC Civil Services exam and an independent investigation by the CBI or an external panel of retired judges. Chief Minister Hemant Soren announced his willingness to engage, saying the concerns are being treated with utmost seriousness and that a lasting solution will be announced soon.
