Refurbished Apple devices now offer major savings after June price hikes
Apple increased prices on its Mac and iPad lines in June, making certified refurbished models on Amazon a much cheaper alternative.
In June, Apple lifted the list prices of its latest Mac and iPad offerings, prompting a surge in interest for certified refurbished units sold through Amazon. The refurbished 13.3-inch 2020 MacBook Air starts at $409, far below the current new-model price of $1,260, while the 14-inch 2021 MacBook Pro begins at $2,000 compared with higher-priced alternatives. Similar markdowns apply to iPad Air, iPad Pro, iPad mini and several Apple Watch models, each accompanied by a 90-day limited warranty.
Consumers can further reduce costs by trading in older Apple devices or opting for configurations with less storage or older chips. The deals are highlighted on Amazon’s Renewed store, which also features other discounted electronics.
Why it matters
Consumers can save hundreds on Apple hardware by opting for certified refurbished units amid recent price hikes.
