Relief Society pledges additional $65 million to global women and children aid consortium
Relief Society General President Camille N. Johnson announced a $65 million contribution to the Caring for Women and Children Initiative Consortium, expanding its support for vulnerable groups in 12 nations.
Camille N. Johnson, serving as Relief Society General President, revealed a new $65 million grant for the Caring for Women and Children Initiative Consortium. The funds, provided by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, will be distributed to a coalition of seven NGOs—CARE, Catholic Relief Services, Helen Keller International, The Hunger Project, iDE, Save the Children and Vitamin Angels. Since its inception in 2023, the consortium has reached more than 52 million women and children in 12 countries across Africa, Asia and Central America.
Johnson noted three years of collaborative success, while Blaine Maxfield explained that the consortium model leverages each partner’s unique capabilities. The contribution follows earlier allocations of $44 million in 2023, $11.8 million in 2024 and $63.4 million in 2025, raising the cumulative church investment to $184.2 million.
