Renowned Country Music Producer and Steel Guitarist Tommy Detamore Dies at 70

Tommy Detamore, a veteran country music producer and pedal steel guitarist, died unexpectedly at 70, according to a Facebook announcement by his wife of 41 years, Sandra Detamore. Sandra wrote that her husband "went home to be with the Lord" and highlighted his legacy as a respected musician, collaborator, mentor, and creative force. Detamore began playing steel guitar in the 1970s and later established Cherry Ridge Studio in Floresville, Texas, in 1991, working with artists such as Ray Price, Dallas Wayne, Johnny Bush, The Texas Tornadoes, Ronnie Milsap, Raul Malo, Kyle Park and Tony Booth.

Sandra noted that funeral arrangements are being made so friends can say goodbye, describing the death as sudden. She expressed solace in knowing he is at peace and that his music will endure.
