Whisenant rose to prominence after he and Brant Hysell set a new speed record on El Capitan’s Lurking Fear route in October 2024, surpassing the previous mark.
In May, he and Noah Fox tackled the Nose route twice in a single day, a demanding achievement noted by the Yosemite Climbing Association. Fellow climbers and the broader climbing community have offered numerous tributes. Moore concluded her message with a personal farewell, reflecting the deep bonds within the sport.
