Rep. Max Miller denies abuse claims, cites ex-wife's mental health issues

Rep. Max Miller used a live video on X to counter domestic-abuse accusations raised by his former spouse, Emily Moreno, attributing the claims to her diagnosed mental-health difficulties. He described the allegations—such as an episode involving hot water and an alleged gun threat—as untrue, labeling them "outrageous" and noting that if proven, they would have led to imprisonment. Miller shared a Dropbox link to court filings he says validate his position and highlighted that a restraining order had been filed against him.

He emphasized his desire to protect their two-year-old daughter, Ruth, and affirmed his intent to seek reelection in Ohio’s 7th District, despite criticism from Democrats and a call for an ethics probe. The dispute follows a divorce finalized in December 2025 and includes a defamation lawsuit filed by Miller against Emily Moreno and her attorney, Andrew Zashin.
