Republicans plan Dallas midterm convention to brand Democrats as socialist extremists
The GOP will hold its first midterm convention in Dallas, using compiled video of Democratic figures to portray the party as dominated by socialist activists.
The Republican National Committee is set to host its inaugural midterm convention in Dallas on Sept. 9-10, where it will showcase an extensive video library of Democratic politicians and commentators. Organizers believe the event will allow the party to sidestep what they call “Protection Racket Media” and present their message directly to the electorate. The convention will also mark the first anniversary of Charlie Kirk’s assassination and reference recent attempts on Donald Trump’s life, framing the left as a violent threat. Analysts note the plan seeks to compensate for Trump’s limited popularity by focusing on Democratic extremism.
