Right-wing journalist Erik Tegner assaulted by antifa group in Brittany

A group of antifa militants confronted Erik Tegner, journalist and founder of the conservative outlet Frontières, as he left a bar with friends in Brittany on Wednesday night. Multiple videos circulating online depict the attackers surrounding him, throwing alcohol in his face, and repeatedly shoving him toward the coastline. Tegner reported that roughly 150 individuals were involved and that they attempted to force him into the water.

The assault follows previous large protests in the region over his May opening of a craft brewery and echoes earlier attacks, including a 2025 incident in Côtes-d’Armor where he and his fiancée were assaulted. National Rally figure Jordan Bardella condemned the episode, labeling the far left as violent and urging judicial action. The episode occurs amid a broader surge in politically motivated street clashes in France, highlighted by the February murder of conservative student Quentin Deranque in Lyon and recent bans on extremist demonstrations in Paris enforced by French police.
