Roma eyes €32m sale of Matias Soulé as Milan emerges as preferred destination

AS Roma is looking to offload Argentine winger Matias Soulé for around €32 million, with AC Milan identified as the most likely buyer.

AS Roma is seeking to sell Argentine forward Matias Soulé after deeming him surplus to requirements under Gian Piero Gasperini, particularly following the signing of Santiago Castro from Bologna. Initially priced at €40 million, the club has lowered its demand to about €30 million with an additional €2 million in performance-related clauses, aiming to secure a move within Europe’s elite leagues. Soulé and his agent have been exploring options across Serie A, with AC Milan emerging as the preferred destination, though Milan must first resolve the sale of Rafael Leão. Interest has also been reported from Fiorentina, Borussia Dortmund, Besiktas, Sunderland, Aston Villa and Bayer Leverkusen. Roma’s urgency stems from the need to raise funds for other targets before the transfer deadline.

Why it matters

The transfer could reshape Roma's squad and affect Milan's attacking options ahead of the season's second half.
