Roma may gamble on Jadon Sancho to fill left-wing vacancy

Ahead of the upcoming campaign, Roma finds itself without a specialist left-winger and has limited time before the season opener against a stronger Fiorentina. Manager Gian Piero Gasperini has already dismissed several options, including a costly pursuit of Norwegian winger Antonio Nusa and a return to Stephan El Shaarawy. The club is now eyeing free agent Jadon Sancho, who after a mixed spell at Chelsea and brief periods at Manchester United, Aston Villa and other clubs, is training with non-league side Flixton.

While Sancho’s recent form has been uneven, his technical skills—dribbling, close-control and combination play—could suit Roma’s attacking setup alongside Paulo Dybala and Donyell Malen. Gasperini may view the signing as a reclamation project rather than a marquee acquisition, hoping the reduced expectations will allow Sancho to rediscover his earlier promise.
