Sarajevo Film Festival Announces Open Air Lineup Featuring Luna, Minotaur and Sadat
The Sarajevo Film Festival revealed its Open Air slate, highlighting Diego Luna’s Ashes, Andrey Zvyagintsev’s Minotaur and Shahrbanoo Sadat’s No Good Men among other titles.
Sarajevo’s 32nd edition, running Aug. 14-21, has unveiled an Open Air program that will screen at the city’s largest outdoor venue, the Coca-Cola Open Air Cinema. The lineup opens with Paweł Pawlikowski’s Fatherland and concludes with Danis Tanović’s 2001 Oscar-winning No Man’s Land, set during the 1993 Bosnian war. Highlights feature Diego Luna’s Ashes, a tale of Mexican siblings confronting a harsh reality in Madrid, Andrey Zvyagintsev’s Cannes-premiering Minotaur about a corporate director under pressure, and Shahrbanoo Sadat’s No Good Men, following a Kabul TV camerawoman fighting for custody of her son.
The festival also presents regional works such as Miroslav Terzić’s 3 Weeks After and Michael Winterbottom’s Welcome to Sarajevo, honoring honorary Heart of Sarajevo recipient Woody Harrelson. A parallel Open Air Premiere competition at the UNIQA Open Air Cinema Stari Grad will award the audience-selected Prix Cineplexx.
