The newspaper’s attorneys argue there is no justification for sealing the records in a standard bankruptcy case and warn against granting special treatment because of Sanders’ fame. Judge Michael Romero is reviewing the competing motions, with no deadline announced for his ruling. The bankruptcy proceeding centers on Sanders’ attempt to wipe out over $11 million owed to John Darjean, stemming from a 2015 school altercation.
