Simile secures $200 million Series B, reaching a $2 billion valuation
AI startup Simile closed a $200 million Series B round, valuing the company at $2 billion, just five months after its $100 million Series A.
Simile, a startup that creates AI-generated user profiles for market testing, announced a $200 million Series B financing that lifts its valuation to $2 billion, only five months after a $100 million Series A led by Index Ventures. Greenoaks headed the new round, with additional capital from Index, Hanabi, Bain Capital Ventures, A*, Factory, Definition and CVS Health Ventures, the latter also being a key customer. The company’s technology simulates human behavior for marketing and product research, a field that has seen growing investor interest, exemplified by peers such as Aaru.
Simile was founded by Stanford PhD graduate Joon Sung Park, whose dissertation featured a project named “Smallville” that modeled entire synthetic lives. While the goal of accurately replicating all eight billion people is ambitious, the approach promises valuable insights for businesses seeking realistic test audiences. The rapid fundraising underscores strong venture confidence in synthetic-user platforms.
Why it matters
The financing shows strong investor belief in AI-driven synthetic user tools for market research.
