Siwan Mair appointed permanent chief executive of Welsh Gymnastics
Siwan Mair has been confirmed as the permanent chief executive of Welsh Gymnastics after serving as acting CEO since December 2025.
Welsh Gymnastics announced that Siwan Mair will become its permanent chief executive, following a stint as acting CEO that began in December 2025. Mair first entered the senior leadership team in 2015 as director of development and has been instrumental in the sport’s growth. Under her oversight, Wales delivered its strongest artistic gymnastics performance at the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games, earning gold on the women's floor and bronze medals in vault and uneven bars.
Medalists included Ruby Evans, the twin pair Abigail, and Emily Roper. Mair expressed enthusiasm for the future, citing the community’s clubs, values, and commitment. Chair Mark Petherick praised her leadership and confirmed the board’s belief that she is the right person to advance Welsh gymnastics.
