Skye Blakely aims for full all-around comeback at Xfinity U.S. Championships
After a season-ending Achilles surgery, Skye Blakely will compete on all four apparatus at the Xfinity U.S. Gymnastics Championships in Phoenix.
Skye Blakely, a 21-year-old senior from the University of Florida, will attempt her first elite all-around competition since a right-Achilles rupture in 2024. The event, held in Phoenix and broadcast on one outlet and Peacock, follows a comeback that saw her capture uneven-bars gold and balance-beam silver at the 2025 U.S. Championships and win bars and beam at the 2026 U.S. Classic. Previously a runner-up to Simone Biles at the 2024 nationals, Blakely endured Tommy John surgery in 2021 and an elbow injury at the Tokyo trials.
She plans to compete on floor and vault for the first time at elite level since her injuries, aiming more for personal fulfillment than a title. Her long-term ambition is to qualify for the 2028 Olympic team, potentially becoming the first U.S. woman to make an Olympic squad after three trials. Jade Carey also targets a third Olympics in Los Angeles.
