Skyline Eagles claim top spot in Region 10 preseason coaches poll
The Skyline Eagles edged out defending champion Highland to lead the Region 10 preseason coaches poll, with several schools returning key starters for the 2026 campaign.
In the latest Region 10 preseason coaches poll, Skyline Eagles moved ahead of defending champion Highland Rams to claim the top position, reflecting both teams' 4A playoff runs in 2025. Skyline, now led by first-year head coach Brandon Matich, lost All-State quarterback Xavier Cocci but added transfer Tate Johnson to run its power-spread offense, and returns eight offensive and six defensive starters, including Honorable Mention All-State running back Jonah Mailei.
Highland, coached by Kautai Olevao, finished last season 7-4 overall with a perfect 6-0 regional record and also returns eight starters on each side of the ball. Additional programs such as Murray, East, Juan Diego, Jordan and Cottonwood each retain a core of experienced players and aim to climb the rankings as the 2026 high school football season approaches.
