Stellantis initiates global recall of over 1.5 million Ram 1500 trucks for belt defect

Stellantis disclosed that it will recall roughly 1.5 million Ram 1500 pickup trucks produced from 2019 through 2026 because a second-row seat-belt buckle anchor may have been installed without proper attachment to the body structure. This defect could compromise the belt’s performance and increase the chance of harm to occupants. The company is aware of a single injury possibly related to the problem, though no fatalities have occurred.

The recall spans 1.27 million vehicles in the United States, 156,000 in Canada, 15,000 in Mexico and about 75,000 elsewhere. Owners will receive notifications directing them to authorized dealers for a free inspection and, if needed, corrective fastening of the anchor. Stellantis emphasized its commitment to safety and swift remediation.
