Sundance Institute appoints Trista Schroeder as General Counsel and COO
Trista Schroeder has been promoted to serve as both general counsel and chief operating officer of the Sundance Institute, effective immediately.
Effective now, Trista Schroeder assumes the dual role of general counsel and chief operating officer at the Sundance Institute, expanding her responsibilities beyond legal advice to include governance, risk, labor, compliance and overall administration. Having guided the institute through major changes since 2020, she most recently negotiated the RFP process that selected Boulder, Colorado as the festival’s new home starting in 2027.
In her expanded capacity, Schroeder will remain a direct report to CEO David Linde, allowing him to focus on external leadership and fundraising. Board Chair Ebs Burnough highlighted her indispensable contribution to the Boulder relocation. Schroeder’s background includes founding the Hollywood Commission, senior legal roles at Wasserman and experience at Proskauer Rose and Morgan Stanley.
