Super Netball reaches one-year player deal, averting pay standoff for 2027 season

Netball Australia, the league’s clubs and the Australian Netball Players' Association have signed a 12-month collective agreement that secures higher pay and better conditions for Super Netball athletes in 2027.

After months of contract uncertainty, Netball Australia, the Super Netball clubs and the Australian Netball Players' Association have finalized a one-year collective players agreement for the 2027 season. The pact lifts the minimum and maximum player payments beyond the consumer price index, introduces a lump-sum bonus tied to league sponsorships, and grants two additional weeks of annual leave by condensing club duties.

Athletes will now be able to sign multi-year contracts and pursue individual endorsement deals, while health insurance and meal allowances are also increased. The interim deal enables clubs to begin roster planning, but expansion ambitions remain on hold until a longer-term settlement is reached. Interim chief executive Mark Falvo said the arrangement balances immediate player benefits with the sport’s future growth, and the Australian Netball Players' Association continues to push for revenue-sharing and stronger parental-leave provisions.
