T-Mobile rolls out zero-down 36-month financing that includes taxes and fees

T-Mobile introduced a 36-month Equipment Installment Plan that lets qualified customers pay for devices, taxes and fees with no upfront cost and a temporary 0% APR.

T-Mobile announced a fresh financing product called Equipment Installment Plan Flex 36, which extends its zero-interest financing to a 36-month term. The scheme allows eligible users to finance the cost of a handset, smartwatch or tablet together with associated taxes, activation fees and any required down payment, all without an initial payment. The offer is limited to “well-qualified” customers and carries a 0% annual percentage rate for a short promotional window, though the exact expiry is unspecified.

Customers can still combine the plan with the carrier’s existing device promotions, and a new Student Perks tier has been introduced at $30 per line when autopay is enabled. T-Mobile has not clarified the cost for customers who do not meet the qualification criteria, and a request for further information has not yet been answered.

Why it matters

The plan could lower upfront costs for consumers, influencing buying decisions and competition in the mobile market.
