TAG Heuer revives iconic orange F1 watch with solar-powered upgrade

TAG Heuer’s 2025 relaunch of its Formula 1 line includes a refreshed version of the 373.513 orange watch, now referred to as “the Zandvoort” in collector circles. The 38 mm case is larger than the original 28 mm and 35 mm sizes and is powered by solar technology. Buyers can choose between an orange rubber strap costing $2,150 or a sand-blasted three-row steel bracelet priced at $2,250, the latter being an online-only offering.

The dial retains the vintage gray opalin hue, and the strap’s orange branding mirrors the classic design, though the V-shaped cutting grooves are omitted. The watch’s casing is built from TH-Polylight, a more sustainable castor-based polyamide, over a steel core, replacing the former “Arnite” thermoplastic. Production is capped at 1,500 strap-equipped pieces and 1,000 bracelet versions. Both variants will be available for purchase next week, with pre-order notifications now open.
