Take-Two posts $1.39 billion in Q2 sales amid GTA VI pre-order launch
Take-Two Interactive reported $1.39 billion in sales for the April-June quarter, the period when Grand Theft Auto VI pre-orders opened.
Take-Two Interactive announced that its sales for the April-June quarter totaled $1.39 billion, coinciding with the start of Grand Theft Auto VI pre-orders on June 25. The company cited its biggest revenue contributors as NBA 2K, the Grand Theft Auto series, Toon Blast, Match Factory!, Empires & Puzzles, Red Dead Redemption series, Words With Friends, Color Block Jam, WWE 2K, Zynga Poker and Toy Blast. Net bookings slipped 3 % compared with the same quarter last year, and a $43.4 million impairment was recorded after shelving an unannounced third-party project.
Gross profit stood at $882.5 million, while GAAP earnings per share showed a loss of 18 cents on $1.39 billion in bookings. CEO Strauss Zelnick praised the results, citing disciplined execution across labels and the upcoming November 19 launch of GTA VI, and reiterated the fiscal 2027 net-bookings target of $8.0-$8.2 billion.
