Tasmanian employee sentenced after gambling-fueled $220,000 embezzlement
A man employed by Salmon Tasmania stole $220,000 and gambled it away, leading to a prison term and a mandatory gambling self-exclusion.
Christopher Lee William Ford Brown, a recent hire at Salmon Tasmania, diverted $220,000 from his employer into several personal bank accounts. The funds were quickly transferred to accounts with Sportsbet, Bet365 and Neds, where he lost the entire amount on online betting. A court sentenced him to a minimum of six months in jail and ordered him to self-exclude from all gambling activities after release.
