Tasmanian Man Charged with Assault and Arson Granted Bail
Charlie Hills, 29, was released on bail after being accused of assaulting a 76-year-old man and involvement in a house fire at a Coles Bay property.
Authorities allege that Hills, together with two accomplices, attacked the elderly victim in the early hours of July 11 at a residence on Tasmania’s east coast. The incident also included an alleged arson of the home. Hills secured release by posting a $10,000 surety. The other suspects, Jason Byrnes, 33, and Hayden Morrison, 31, face multiple charges ranging from attempted aggravated burglary to motor vehicle theft.
