Team Trump removes Taylor Swift's 'August' from TikTok after posting it

A Team Trump TikTok that used Taylor Swift's song “August” was stripped of its audio after the post mocked the singer, and the account later posted a follow-up using another Swift track.

Team Trump, a TikTok channel created ahead of the 2024 election, shared a clip earlier this week that paired Taylor Swift’s “August” with footage of Donald and Melania Trump watching fireworks, adding a caption that directly teased the singer. By Friday evening, the audio track had vanished, replaced by a message indicating the copyright holder had withdrawn the sound. No comment has been offered by Swift’s representatives or the Trump campaign regarding the cause.

Fans of Swift celebrated the disappearance in the comments. In response, the account posted another video using a live rendition of Swift’s 2012 song “Red,” overlaying it with mock album artwork featuring Trump’s face and a fake “Red (Trump’s Version)” playlist, while re-naming several of Swift’s songs to echo Republican messaging. Earlier, Trump had publicly expressed dislike for Swift and criticized her after she endorsed Kamala Harris in the 2024 race.
