Ted Lasso is slated to resume on Apple TV on August 5 with a ten-episode fourth season that pivots from the AFC Richmond men’s team to the newly introduced Lady Greyhounds. Jason Sudeikis reprises his role as Coach Lasso, while the male player roster has been swapped for a fresh group of actresses, a deliberate creative choice by the writers. Long-time cast members Hannah Waddingham and Juno Temple, who secured their spots early in the renewal process, returned to set and took on informal mentorship roles for the new female cast.

Production began last summer in Kansas City, Sudeikis’s hometown, before moving to England for the remainder of filming. Both Waddingham and Temple expressed initial nerves about returning after three years but emphasized a desire to keep the show authentic rather than caricatured. The season will roll out weekly episodes, marking a significant shift in the series’ narrative focus.
