Teen gang linked to 77 Bay Area burglaries arrested after months-long raid

Four juveniles suspected of a 77-incident burglary spree across the Bay Area were taken into custody, and an adult alleged supplier was charged with receiving stolen property.

Authorities say a quartet of juveniles carried out an extensive armed burglary campaign that hit 77 homes and vehicles across the Bay Area, using stolen garage-door openers and occasionally brandishing weapons. Their alleged offenses include 37 burglaries in Concord and roughly 40 additional break-ins in Contra Costa and Solano counties, ranging from theft of power tools to the seizure of 14 firearms from a single garage.

Police attempts to stop getaway cars resulted in high-speed pursuits, one of which was abandoned for safety, and a June crash that allowed suspects to flee on foot. A joint effort by Concord detectives, Richmond police and multiple SWAT teams led to the arrest of three remaining juveniles, while a fourth was already in juvenile detention for an unrelated matter. Searches of the youths’ homes uncovered two stolen guns, and a third firearm had been recovered by Richmond officers. The investigation connected the loot to Wuillian Cordova-Cubias of Oakland, whose residence yielded a large cache of tools, a stolen ATV, a forklift, an unregistered firearm and property valued at about $250,000; he now faces charges including receiving stolen property and illegal firearm possession.
