Teen Pleads Guilty to Murder in Shellharbour Train Station Stabbing

A 16-year-old male entered a guilty plea for the murder of 25-year-old Jack Westren, who was fatally stabbed at Shellharbour Junction train station on 28 January last year. Court documents reveal that a group of minors lured Westren via social media, using a fabricated profile of a 12-year-old girl, and orchestrated an ambush involving a hunting knife and physical assaults, with adult suspect Tamara Doust allegedly transporting participants to the location.

Four boys and a girl, aged 13 to 15, have already pleaded guilty to manslaughter and await sentencing. Doust, 39, has pleaded not guilty to murder and is scheduled for a September hearing at the Supreme Court in Sydney. The teenager’s sentencing is set for 4 September, while the five manslaughter defendants will receive their dates later this month. Police recovered the weapon from a creek after Doust led officers to the burial site.
