Teen Stabbed Multiple Times Near Dominican Day Parade Route in Midtown Manhattan
A 19-year-old was attacked with a knife on 42nd Street between Fifth and Sixth Avenues around mid-afternoon, and police have detained two suspects.
Authorities reported that a 19-year-old man suffered multiple stab wounds on 42nd Street, between Fifth and Sixth Avenues, shortly after an argument broke out near Bryant Park at approximately 2:40 p.m. Emergency responders rushed him to NYC Health+Hospitals/Bellevue, where he remains in stable condition. Police apprehended two suspects at the scene, but as of Sunday afternoon no formal charges have been announced and their connection to the victim is unclear.
The attack unfolded hours after Mayor Zohran Mamdani and Governor Kathy Hochul participated in the heavily policed 44th Dominican Day Parade, which runs along Sixth Avenue from 37th to 55th Streets. The parade’s route passes near the location of the stabbing. Law enforcement continues to investigate the motive and any possible links to the event.
