Tennessee repeat offender Johnthony Walker faces new domestic-violence charges while incarcerated
Johnthony Walker, the convicted driver of the 2016 school bus crash that killed six children, has been booked on multiple domestic-violence related charges in a Nashville jail.
Records from the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office indicate that Johnthony Walker, the former school bus driver convicted of negligent homicide for the 2016 crash that killed six elementary students, is now facing seven new charges related to a domestic-violence incident. The 34-year-old was arrested on Monday and placed in a Nashville detention facility. Walker’s criminal history includes a 2018 conviction for the bus crash, a four-year prison term, and a 2020 guilty plea to statutory rape that added six years and a sex-offender registration requirement.
The current docket lists aggravated assault by strangulation, aggravated burglary, child abuse, interference with an emergency call, and three counts of sex-offender registration violations. These charges are unrelated to the earlier crash and rape cases. He remains incarcerated while the new case proceeds.
