Thai travel vlogger Hlun Solo confirmed dead while filming in Georgia
The family of Thai YouTuber Hlun Solo announced his death after he vanished during a solo trip to Georgia.
Popular Thai travel creator Bowornthat Pengsuk, known online as Hlun Solo, disappeared on July 13 while filming in Georgia, prompting his family to seek information through social media. On July 30, his relatives confirmed his death, ending a period of uncertainty. Thailand’s Ministry of one outlet reported that diplomats from the Royal Thai Embassy in Ankara traveled to Georgia to meet local officials and secure the necessary paperwork for returning his body.
Jaithai Upakaranitikaset, director-general of the Department of Information, said the embassy received official confirmation of the death from Georgian authorities. Hlun’s 82-year-old grandmother, Som Plengsuk, denied online claims that he had taken his own life in a Tbilisi hotel and demanded a transparent account of what happened. The family also questioned why Georgian police could not locate his passport records, and they requested privacy while arrangements are made.
