Three deaf-mute rag pickers discovered dead in rented room in Prayagraj

Police in Prayagraj found three deaf and mute rag pickers dead inside a rented room, and investigators say a fight may have led to the killings.

In Prayagraj's Gari Kala neighbourhood, authorities discovered the bodies of three deaf-mute rag pickers—two women and a man—inside a rented room on Leader Road. The incident was reported after neighbours heard disturbances late on Monday and found the bodies the following day. DCP Maneesh Shandilya led a team of forensic experts and police to the scene, where the deceased were taken for post-mortem analysis.

The landlord was unable to supply the victims' names, and officials have not yet confirmed their identities. Preliminary findings indicate the three may have engaged in a physical altercation that resulted in their deaths. Police continue to gather evidence and interview witnesses as the investigation proceeds.
