In the early morning hours on Wednesday, a factory in Yadgir's Kadechur-Badiyal Industrial Area experienced a leak of a chemical thought to be sulphur dioxide. The incident resulted in the deaths of three migrant labourers—Katla Ganesh from Telangana, and Vikram Singh Gonda and Sanjay Singh Gonda from Madhya Pradesh—and left two workers, Manchala Hemanth and Manchala Shivakumar from Andhra Pradesh, hospitalized in Raichur. Local police have filed a case against the plant's management, while State Disaster Response Force personnel and forensic investigators remain at the site to assess the situation.
