Toddler discovered dead in San Antonio creek after Amber Alert search
A two-year-old girl vanished from her San Antonio home on Sunday and was found dead in a nearby creek after an Amber Alert was issued.
On Sunday evening, 2-year-old Aryana Trevino Martinez went missing from her San Antonio residence, leading police to issue an Amber Alert. Surveillance footage captured her walking toward a nearby creek, and the alert was lifted after her body was recovered at midnight by Uriel Ramirez, the son of Anna Marie Ramirez, who described the discovery as a shocking moment. The toddler was found about 500 yards from her home, still wearing a black top and leopard-print pants.
Authorities have not yet determined the cause of death and are probing how she exited the house. Residents, including neighbor David Alcantar, voiced disbelief at how a child could have gotten so far alone. A community vigil is planned for 8 p.m. on Tuesday to honor the child.
