Toronto Man Charged with First-Degree Murder of Indian Partner Himanshi Khurana

Toronto police announced the arrest of Abdul Ghafoori, 32, who faces a first-degree murder charge for the death of his partner, Himanshi Khurana, 30, an Indian national. Officers from the fugitive squad and homicide unit, working with national and international agencies, located Ghafoori and detained him at a Toronto airport. Khurana's body was discovered inside a residence near Strachan Avenue and Wellington Street West after a missing-person report was filed on December 19, with investigators determining the case to be an intimate-partner homicide.

This incident marked the city’s 40th homicide of 2025. The Indian Consulate in Toronto issued a statement expressing deep sadness and confirming ongoing support for the bereaved family in coordination with local authorities.
