Troon expands its golf portfolio by acquiring Bobby Jones Links

Troon has purchased Atlanta-based Bobby Jones Links, adding 34 courses to its management roster while keeping the brand’s name intact.

Troon announced the acquisition of Bobby Jones Links, a Georgia-based golf-management firm that operates 34 courses across 13 states. While the Bobby Jones Links brand will remain unchanged, it will now benefit from Troon’s broader support network, including enhanced marketing and operational expertise. Founders Whitney Crouse and Steve Willy will retain their leadership roles as chief executive officer and chief operating officer.

Troon President and CEO Tim Schantz highlighted the strong industry reputation of the duo and the value of integrating their team into Troon’s extensive portfolio, which already includes over 400 U.S. facilities after previous purchases such as O.B. Sports Golf Management and Applied Golf Management. The move reinforces Troon’s position as the largest third-party golf manager in the United States and expands its global footprint, which spans more than 40 countries and a suite of related hospitality brands.

Why it matters

The acquisition deepens consolidation in golf management, potentially reshaping services for clubs and members nationwide.
