Twelve South launches a slimmer, $130 Valet charging dock for nightstands
Twelve South introduced a reduced-depth version of its Valet charging station, priced at $130 and offering faster wireless charging.
Twelve South has released an updated Valet charging dock that is considerably thinner, shrinking from 7.5 inches to 4.25 inches in depth, which helps it sit more comfortably on small nightstands. The $130 model keeps the premium Nappa leather finish, interchangeable frame options, and a subtle bottom LED that lights when a device is placed on the charging pad. Wireless charging now supports the Qi2 standard with up to 25 W of power, an increase from the previous 15 W, and a USB-C port on the underside can deliver up to 25 W for other gadgets when the pad is idle.
The dock still does not include a dedicated Apple Watch charging surface, so users must connect a separate watch charger via the USB-C port. Compared with the original’s $180 price, the slimmer version aims to balance aesthetics, functionality, and a more compact footprint for clutter-prone bedside spaces.
Why it matters
The redesign offers a more space-efficient charging solution for consumers who value both style and faster wireless power.
