Twin CEOs Secure $44 Million Series D, Push Genius AI to $1.15 B Unicorn

Twin sisters Danielle and Leah Cohen-Shohet raised $44 million in a Series D round, valuing their company Genius AI at $1.15 billion.

Danielle and Leah Cohen-Shohet, the twin founders of Genius AI, have closed a $44 million Series D financing round that pushes the company’s valuation to $1.15 billion, making it the latest female-founded unicorn. The round was spearheaded by Lux Capital with participation from Bessemer Venture Partners, Imaginary Ventures, L Catterton Growth, 2048 Ventures, StepStone Private Ventures and others, bringing total capital raised to more than $125 million.

Genius AI, which evolved from the GlossGenius salon-booking and payments platform, now markets itself as a technology suite for a wide array of in-person service providers. The firm currently serves over 125,000 businesses covering roughly half of all U.S. zip codes. The twins attribute early growth to a focus on solving real-world admin problems for practitioners and to building trust with traditionally paper-based operators.

With the new funding, they plan to broaden their AI-driven features and expand into additional service sectors while keeping the business model centered on the professionals rather than a marketplace. Danielle emphasized that AI will handle routine tasks, freeing providers to concentrate on client interaction.

Why it matters

The funding gives a fast-growing AI platform the resources to reshape how service-based businesses manage operations.
