Two teenage girls killed after e-scooter collision with pickup in Syracuse
Two 13-year-old girls died on Wednesday when a pickup truck struck their electric scooter at a Syracuse intersection.
The crash occurred around 1:05 p.m. as the girls rode west on an e-scooter along Heritage Parkway. A southbound pickup on Banbury Drive hit them at the crossing. Emergency responders arrived promptly, but the victims did not survive. The truck driver stayed at the scene and is cooperating with authorities. Syracuse police and the Utah Highway Patrol are investigating the incident.
