Two Unidentified Bodies Found in Fresno: One on High School Roof, One in Canal
Fresno authorities discovered two deceased men on Friday, one atop a high school building and another in a nearby water canal, prompting a suspicious-death investigation.
Fresno Police Department said an employee at Fresno High School alerted responders to a possible corpse on the roof of a north-end campus building near Echo and Weldon streets; fire crews and EMS arrived and pronounced the adult male dead at the scene. The department labeled the case suspicious because of the unusual location, though the man's age remains unknown. Later the same day, Fresno County Sheriff’s deputies investigating a report of a body in a canal west of Biola found another deceased man, with the Sheriff’s Dive Unit retrieving the remains.
The coroner’s office is now attempting to positively identify the second victim, and the circumstances of his death are also unclear. Both incidents have unsettled local residents, who have taken to social media to speculate about possible connections. Investigations remain ongoing for both cases.
