Typhoon Dolphin approaches China, prompting mass evacuations and flood warnings

Typhoon Dolphin is moving toward China's eastern coast, with meteorologists warning of prolonged heavy rain that could trigger flooding and landslides, especially in mountainous areas. Authorities have begun evacuating residents, moving more than 30,000 people in Shanghai, about 390,000 in Taizhou, Zhejiang, and roughly 99,000 in Fujian province. Earlier, the storm battered Japan's Okinawa islands, causing power outages and injuries before turning northwest toward China. Chinese officials have raised the emergency response level and issued a red alert as the system tracks westward.
